Installation av multisim 2001

Filerna finns på: <ftp://ftp.interactiv.com/pub/interactiv/demo/>. Mer information finns på Electronics Workbench's hemsida: <http://www.electronicsworkbench.com/>. Det finns två olika sätt att installera programmet Option 1 & Option 2. Glöm inte att stänga alla övriga program (t ex ICQ m m) innan installationen påbörjas. Istället för att låta programmet automatiskt starta om datorn kan du välja att inte låta programmet starta om datorn, och själv starta om datorn direkt efter det att första installationsdelen är avslutad.

Option 1:
Multisim Demo Download

Install Instructions for Multisim Demo -- Option 1

  1. Download the exec file(s) to your PC C:\ Temp folder.
  2. Double-click C:\ Temp \ msmdemo.exe to execute it. This is a self-extracting file. The demo setup routine will start-up automatically.
  3. Restart your computer when prompted.
  4. Double-click C:\ Temp \ msmdemo.exe a second time.
  5. Select C:\ Multisim as a destination folder or choose your own folder.
  6. A program folder called Multisim 2001 Demo will be created.
  7. Select Start / Programs / Multisim 2001 Demo to start up the program.

Install Instructions for Multisim Demo -- Option 2

  1. Download msmdemo1.exe and msmdemo2.exe to your PC C:\ Temp folder.
  2. Double-click C:\ Temp \ msmdemo1.exe to execute it.
  3. Restart your computer when prompted.
  4. Select the location in which you want to install the demo.
  5. Double-click C:\ Temp \ msmdemo2.exe to execute it.
  6. A program folder called Multisim 2001 Demo will be created.
  7. Select Start / Programs / Multisim 2001 Demo to start up the program.

Optional Add-On Module Demos

Downloadable demos of Multisim HDL Add-ons and Documentation are also available. Users must download the Multisim 2001 Demo (above) before attempting to download the VHDL/Verilog Add-on Modules or Product Documentation.

Om installationen går snett

Det är först när du kopplat upp en krets och startat simuleringen som du vet att programmet fungerar. Ibland går något snett och då får man ett fel när man startar simuleringen: "Netlist error, Error C:\DOCUMENTS : No such file or directory".

Long file names in the TMP and TEMP variables will cause a simulation error.

Q. I have the Educational edition of Multisim 2001 SP1. When I attempt to simulate a Multisim circuit in Window 2000, a Time Step Too Small error occurs stating that C:\Documents was not found. How can I fix this problem?

A: If the TEMP and TMP paths are set to %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Temp (eg: C:\Document and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temp), Multisim truncates the path after the space. As a result, our program searches for a folder called C:\Documents instead of C:\Documents and Settings\... which is incorrect.

Set the TEMP and TMP variables to C:\TEMP. To do this, select Start->Settings->Control Panel, double-click on the System Icon and under the Advanced Tab, click on the Environment Variables button. Note that this must be done for all users that log into a PC.
